Black Belt testing starts at 9 a.m. followed by a lunch break and then the seminar will start no later than 1 p.m., maybe earlier (12 noon).

The seminar will be finished by the time Black Belt competition at the tournament starts, so Isshinryu Black Belts will have an opportunity to watch or compete in the Black Belt competition. We are offering a special tournament price of only an additional $20 for Isshinryu Black Belts who attend the seminar and compete in the tournament. Tournament takes place in the Bossier High School Main Gym.  Tournament Information

Peter Carbone, is our guest instructor this year, weapons is his specialty.

Hanshi Ku Dan, Soke-Keizon (9^th degree red and gold belt) in Ryukyu Kobujutsu (weaponry)  Kyoshi Hachi Dan (8^th degree Red & White belt) in Isshinryu Karate & Kobudo President of the “Ryukyunote Kobujutsu Hozon Budo Kyokai”, Ryukyu Weapons Society, based in Okinawa.  The Weapons Society is dedicated to the preservation of the original Ryukyu Warrior weaponry practice and its relationship to empty hand technique, with 16 weapons and over 50 Kata.  He is also a maker of fine Okinawan Weaponry.

 As a result of our IKA board members poll, topics to be covered in one hour clinics are:

1.                 Basic overview and demo of Okinawan weapons

2.                 Special instruction with baton (arnis) with police applications and applications to modern day self-defense

3.                 Kama – includes demo and short practice of a kama kata

4.                 Bo, sai, and tuifa kumite techniques
